Life, Death, War, Security, Politics, Propaganda, Truth, the Media, Belief, Faith and Religion
SOURCE- for this brilliant image
We must remember that in time of war what is said on the enemy's side of the front is always propaganda, and what is said on our side of the front is truth and righteousness, the cause of humanity and a crusade for peace.
— Walter Lippmann
Ok, so why all of the sudden am I writing about the war? Well, that's easy. It seems pretty obvious to me that the issues, questions, moral dilemmas, complexities and human interest generated by current events warrants some kind of input from those of us who purportedly are on friendly terms with Jesus and thus have some general understanding of the meaning of life and where men ought to stand on such huge, sweeping, life altering, morally gut wrenching matters like warfare. (what a runninn' sentence...oh well)
After all, the present set of circumstances contains all the elements in the title of this post; Life, Death, War, Security, Politics, Propaganda, Truth, the Media, Belief, Faith and Religion. I beleieve that places the subject squarely within the range, jurisdiction, realm and arena of the purported Children of God. The war and all the facets and implications therein is what everyones's talking about. That's the root of the hullabaloo. That's the burning elephant in the living room. Its unavoidable.
Also, if you reckon yourself as a fisher of men... this would officially be a good time to cast your nets.
Let's see if I can remember that Cherokee prayer:
Ga, sge, Tsa-na-lan-uh- hi, Squa- nah-la- nuh-hi, i gah -i elo-hi-nah ehi yunwi, tsia- gwo niah-gwo
It means "Listen, Hear me! You Provider, My Provider",
For all of the Dwellers of the Earth, I just Cry.
